Sitopaladi is one of most beloved Ayurveda's classic formulas, named for its two foundations - sita (rock sugar) and vamsha rochana (bamboo manna) - balanced with warming aromatic spices.

Traditional texts describe it as a meeting of cooling and warming energetics: bamboo manna and rock sugar are regarded as sweet, cooling and nourishing, while pippali, cardamom and cinnamon bring pungent warmth.

This pairing is why the blend has been valued in households for generations, particularly through seasonal change.

Our authentic Sitopaladi is finely milled for easy mixing. Naturally sweet and warmly spiced, it's traditionally enjoyed stirred into warm water, honey, or recipes.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Sitopaladi powder?

Sitopaladi is a classic Ayurvedic herbal blend whose name comes from its two foundational ingredients — sita (rock sugar) and pala (bamboo manna) — combined with warming aromatic spices. It's one of the most well-known traditional formulas in Ayurveda.

What's in it?

Five traditional ingredients: misri sugar (plant-derived rock sugar), vanshlochan (bamboo manna), pippali (long pepper), green cardamom, and cinnamon bark. Nothing else — no fillers, preservatives, or artificial additives. It's vegan friendly.

What is Sitopaladi traditionally used for?

In Ayurveda it has long been valued as a comforting, kapha-balancing blend, traditionally turned to during seasonal changes and the cooler months. We describe its traditional role rather than making health claims — for guidance on your individual needs, speak with a qualified practitioner.

What does it taste like?

Naturally sweet from the rock sugar, with warm, aromatic notes from the cardamom, cinnamon, and pippali. Most people find it pleasant to take, which is part of why it's been a household favourite for generations.

Does it contain sugar?

Yes — misri (rock sugar) is one of the two foundational ingredients. If you're managing your blood sugar intake, use with care and factor this in.
