Discover the traditional yogic practice of Jala Neti, a gentle nasal cleansing method that has been used for centuries as part of daily self-care rituals. A Neti Pot is a small teapot-shaped vessel designed to rinse the nasal passages with a warm saline solution. This simple practice supports comfortable breathing and helps keep the nasal passages clear of irritants encountered in everyday life.

Rooted in the ancient shatkarmas (cleansing practices) of yoga, Jala Neti was traditionally used to maintain nasal hygiene and prepare the body for breathwork and meditation. Today, it has become a widely adopted wellness tool for individuals who value natural, mindful routines.

This Neti Pot is crafted for smooth flow, ease of use, and comfortable fit at the nostril. The long spout helps direct the saline solution gently through one nostril and out the other. When used with properly prepared warm saline water, the process feels natural and soothing.

How To Use

Prepare the Saline Solution

-Mix warm water (body-temperature) with non-iodised salt e.g Himalayan salt.

-Use approximately ½ teaspoon of salt per cup of water.

-Ensure the salt is fully dissolved before use.

Rinsing Technique

-Lean forward over a sink and tilt the head slightly to one side.

-Insert the Neti pot’s spout gently into the upper nostril.

-Keep the mouth open and breathe normally through the mouth.

-Allow the saline water to flow through one nostril and exit from the other.

-Repeat on the opposite side using the remaining solution.

Drying

After rinsing, lean forward and gently exhale through each nostril several times to remove any remaining water.

Optional Traditional Step

In classical Ayurvedic practice, a light nasal oil (such as sesame oil or ghee) is applied after cleansing to help keep the nasal passages moisturised.

This is optional and should be done only if suitable for the user.

Important:
Always use clean, previously boiled and cooled, or sterile water. Wash and dry the Neti Pot thoroughly after each use.

A Neti Pot is used with warm saline water to gently rinse the nasal passages. The solution flows in through one nostril and out the other, helping wash away dust and environmental particles.

Always use sterile water, previously boiled and cooled water, or distilled water to prepare the saline solution. This ensures safe and comfortable cleansing.

A commonly used ratio is ½ teaspoon of non-iodised salt per cup of warm water, ensuring the solution feels natural and reduces irritation.

Most people use it as part of their daily hygiene routine or as needed for nasal cleansing. Frequency varies by preference; adjust to what feels comfortable for you.

Traditional practice often follows nasal rinsing with a light nasal oil to support moisture. This step is optional—use only if suitable for you.
