Chyawanprash is a traditional Ayurvedic herbal jam made with amla fruit, ghee, rock sugar, and more than 30 herbs and spices. With its rich, dark, jam-like texture, it can be enjoyed straight from the spoon or stirred into warm milk.

The name comes from the sage Chyawan. According to the old Ayurvedic story, Chyawan was a sage who spent so long in meditation that anthills grew around him. When he later married Sukanya, the Ashvini Kumaras, known as the divine physicians, prepared a special herbal blend for him. This recipe became known as Chyawanprash and has been passed down through generations.

How To Use

Suggested serving: 1–2 teaspoons (approx. 10g) daily. Enjoy directly off the spoon, or stir into a glass of warm milk. Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight. Use a clean, dry spoon each time.

Contains milk (ghee) — not suitable for vegans or dairy-free diets. Contains added sugars and sodium benzoate (INS 211). Keep out of reach of children. If pregnant, breastfeeding, or taking medication, consult a healthcare professional before use. Stop use if sensitivity occurs. This is a supplemented food and should not replace a balanced diet.

Certificate + Authenticity

To verify that a herb is authentic it is issued with a Certificate of Authenticity (COA) which contains tests (heavy metals/safety/identification) done on every batch of herb manufacturing. E.g Amla COA or Ashwagandha COA. COAs for every herb are available via email request.

Please note shilajit cannot be claimed as organic as it's not cultivated by humans, it's extracted from special shilajit rocks which is only produced by nature. Shilajit can only be tested for heavy metals which we have done in a Eurofins Laboratory (document is available here)

What does it taste like?

Sweet and sour at once, with a peppery finish from long pepper and a warm cardamom-cinnamon note underneath. The texture is a dense fruit conserve rather than a syrup. It's a strong flavour — some people take to it straight away, others need a week.

Is it vegetarian or vegan?

Vegetarian, not vegan. It's made with clarified butter (ghee), so it contains milk. There's no honey in this formulation.

How do I take it, and how long does a jar last?

One to two teaspoons (10g) daily, straight off the spoon or stirred into warm milk or warm water. Traditionally it's taken in the morning before food. At that rate a 300g jar gives you about 30 servings — roughly a month.

How should I store it?

A cool, dry cupboard away from direct sunlight. No refrigeration needed. Keep the lid sealed and always use a dry spoon — moisture in the jar is what spoils it.

Is there a lot of sugar in it?

Each 10g serving contains 4.5g of carbohydrates, including 3.93g of sugars, roughly equivalent to a teaspoon of sugar and provides 90 kJ of energy.
