The world's finest turmeric is cultivated in the stunning Janita hills of Lakadong, Meghalaya located in northeast India.
Meghalaya is the only state known for harvesting the highest level of curcumin naturally present in its turmeric due to its special geography (The high altitude, cool climate, abundant rain, the quality of the soil, the ancient variety of turmeric, and traditional farming methods).
Sourced directly from family farms, without going through middlemen or distributors.
This turmeric is organically and sustainably grown without the use of any chemicals, pesticides, or fertilisers, keeping it free from irritants and adulteration. Then it is handpicked by local farmers, sorted and washed several times, sliced into small pieces, sun-dried and then ground to make fine turmeric powder. It is also claimed as the miracle spice of Meghalaya.
Curcumin is the main active constituent, found only in turmeric. You can notice the yellow/orange pigment is darker than regular organic turmeric powder available in the market. The stronger/darker the pigment, the higher is the curcumin level, and greater are the therapeutic benefits.
Regular turmeric contains around 0.5-2% curcumin, organic turmeric ranges from 1-4%. First bud turmeric contains 7-12% curcumin.
Turmeric is a highly versatile spice that can be added to different meals in a range of ways and is frequently used in Indian and Thai curries. It is also used in recipes for meat, seafood, vegetables, noodles, and soups.
