Frequently Asked Questions

What makes rosehip seed oil so beneficial for anti-ageing?

Rosehip oil is rich in vitamin A (provitamin A carotenoids) which stimulates collagen production and improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. It blocks MMP-1, an enzyme that breaks down collagen in skin, which is responsible for fine lines and wrinkles. The oil is high in antioxidants, especially the combination of vitamins C and E, which combat free radicals that cause sun damage and premature ageing. It contains carotenoids that help keep skin fresh by creating new skin cells, and trans retinoic acid (a retinoid) that helps regulate new skin cell production. Clinical studies show rosehip seed oil's effectiveness in enhancing skin texture, reducing wrinkles, and improving overall skin condition whilst regenerating cell production and boosting collagen.

How should I use this oil on my face and body?

For Skin: Step 1 - Take a few drops of cold-pressed rosehip oil and gently massage all over the face and body. The lightweight, non-greasy formula absorbs quickly. Step 2 - Add a few drops to your homemade face packs for extra moisture. Step 3 - Can be used in both AM and PM routines. For Hair: Step 1 - Warm the cold-pressed rosehip oil slightly and gently massage it into the scalp to improve circulation. Step 2 - Leave it on for at least an hour, or overnight for deep conditioning. Step 3 - Gently wash with shampoo and rinse thoroughly. Step 4 - Can use 2-3 times a week for strengthening hair. The 30ml bottle provides approximately 30-60 facial applications or 15-30 hair treatments.

Does this help with hyperpigmentation and scars?

Yes, rosehip oil is excellent for reducing dark spots, blemishes, hyperpigmentation, and scars. The vitamin A content interacts with copper ions at the tyrosinase active site, inhibiting the enzyme and reducing melanin formation responsible for dark spots. The oil's regenerative properties help fade post-acne marks, scarring, and uneven skin tone. It's rich in Omega-6 and 9 fatty acids which support skin regeneration and healing. The antioxidants protect skin from free radicals and environmental stressors whilst the carotenoids promote new skin cell production, gradually fading old scarring and discolouration. For best results on pigmentation, use consistently twice daily for 6-12 weeks. The formula is suitable for oily and acne-prone skin despite being an oil.

What are the key nutrients and how do they benefit skin and hair?

This organic cold-pressed rosehip oil is rich in fatty acids (Omega-6 and 9), provitamin A (carotenoids), and vitamin C. These nutrients improve overall skin health and deeply condition both scalp and hair. The essential fatty acids maintain skin barrier function, preventing moisture loss whilst nourishing from within. Provitamin A supports cell turnover and collagen production. Vitamin C brightens and protects against oxidative stress. For hair, these nutrients increase strength, improve scalp health, and add shine. The cold-pressed extraction method ensures maximum retention of these beneficial compounds. Being 100% pure and organic means you get the highest levels of nutrients without dilution or contamination.

Are there any precautions and is it suitable for sensitive skin?

A patch test is advisable before adding to your routine. Apply the oil on your inner elbow or jawline and observe for the next 24 hours. If there's no reaction, you can apply to your skin. If skin is sensitive, continue the test for 7 days to ensure you're not allergic to any ingredient. If irritation occurs, discontinue and consult a dermatologist. The oil is generally well-tolerated and suitable for most skin types, including oily and acne-prone skin, due to its non-comedogenic nature. The formula is cruelty-free and vegan, with handmade products using clean ingredients that are freshly made. It's GMO-free, zero sulphates, no synthetic fragrances, zero dyes, and water-free formulation. Store in a cool, dark place to preserve the beneficial compounds.
